How to keep it

  1. Each day, on the daily book, write every member who paid, the amount and your initials. The amount collected today is the sum of the column.
  2. Copy each payment onto the member's card too, so the member holds a record of their own. Both records should match every day.
  3. Never mix the members' money with your own. The total to hold for members is not yours to spend; write it on the book every day.
  4. At the end of the month add each card, take off any commission you and the member agreed in advance, and write the payout with the date and the member's signature.

Keeping it in CountMy: say what each member paid and CountMy keeps who paid and the running total, using the same "Sold" and "Owes me" you already use. The free notebook has no signup. To send each member a WhatsApp receipt with their running total after every payment, use the free susu card. This page does not describe licensing or rules for susu collectors: for those, read our susu licensing and requirements page.

Questions people ask

Is there a susu contribution book template?

Yes, this one: a daily book for the collector (who paid today and a running total) and a monthly card for each member, on A4.

How does a susu collector record daily contributions?

In a daily book with each member, the amount and initials, plus a card the member also keeps. The two should match every day.

How do I keep susu records on my phone?

You can photograph the signed pages, or keep a running record in CountMy by saying what each member paid. Both are free.

What should a member's card show?

The member's name, the month, the daily amount, a box for each day, the total paid, any commission agreed in advance and the payout with a signature.

Who owns the money a collector is holding?

The members. Write the total held for members in the book every day so it is never confused with the collector's own money.

Say "Ama paid 10" and the running total is kept
